Diesel Heater Battery

Just bought a diesel heater for my wheel house. First time out with it running it on a 12AH lead acid battery and it only ran about 45 minutes before it shut off due to low power. Had another similar battery and put that on the heater and it ran about the same amount of time before shutting down. Just wondering what guys that are running diesel heaters are running for batteries?

    Deep cycle boat/RV batteries.
    Watch this video.
The initial start up draws like 10 amps and normal run amp draw is about 2 amps if I recall. Your results are normal for what you used and Im actually surprised it ran that long to be honest considering the start up for the glow plug draw.

I know I can hook it up to my icehouse battery but dont really want it to drain that battery in the middle of the night and then have no heat. Dont know how long it will run on a Gp24 deep cycle battery as they dont say what the amp hours are on them.
