One other thing about streaming to consider, is that there is no public television.

Not true. YouTubeTV has your local PBS station included with ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox. They added PBS a couple of months ago

Right, but you only get the one. One of the things I miss about YouTubeTV is all of the extra channels. 2.1-2.6, 5.3. All of the channels showing the old TV series and movies. MeTV, Comet, etc.

So even though I have YouTubeTV, I still have the antenna hooked up that I switch over to for the other stuff. For that, you can get a DVR setup throug HDHomeRun, TIVO, etc that allows you to have an on-screen guide and DVR for the antenna channels.

Me too. Put an antenna in the garage attic to get the OTA channels so no internet use for those (and thus lower MB use in the event Spectrum ever imposes a limit, which they can’t legally do for another four or five years).

    jumped $40/month to $200/month

Noticed that yesterday as well. Mine went up $48 to $210. My kids watch a lot of movies and cartoons and stuff but this is getting ridiculous.

With our house full of kids, we’ve gradually added streaming services over time. I think we’re up to Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, Starz, and probably a couple others I’m not even aware of. Still pay quite a bit less than cable ever was, and can always find something I want to watch(on the rare occasion that I get couch time AND the remote at the same time). Cable/satellite really can’t compete any more, probably going the way of the Dodo.
