Does anyone have a DiamondBack Cover on their truck bed? If so please give me a review of your experience with the product. I’m thinking about putting one on my Ram 1500.
Also wondering how often truck beds get broken into. I currently have the OEM tri fold that came with the truck. Seems it would be easy to cut a hole in the fabric and release the clamps on mine. Would like more security than I have.

I had several trucks with toppers I’d end up taking off many times a year to get tall items in I needed to move and then when I didn’t have it on was worried about theft. Yes, anyone can jackknife into a soft cover. It looks like the current price of toppers has skyrocketed since I last bought one of those as well. The diamondback was the best of both worlds for me personally and so easy to flop over one end or remove one panel or all of it by yourself. I’ll buy another one in a second when I need to. I love being able to strap lumber and longer items on top and still be able to close the gate as well.

I’m curious too if anyone can provide a decent review for the HD version. I wouldn’t make the investment for my current truck, but it may be a consideration for the next one. The idea of being able to load over 1000# on top of the cover seems like a lot, but if viable would open up a lot of options for hauling stuff.

To BB- The first one I bought for a 1 ton I had and it was used. The guy had the brackets to load his 4 wheeler on there which he did and I took them off. I could see no evidence or damage from him hauling it on there besides some scratches probably from dirt on the tires. Not in a million years would I want to try to load the wheeler way up there but guys do it. I’ll stick to a trailer low to the ground. I have had a pile of ply and treated timbers on there damn near as high as the cab and no issues but that’s a nice even load too.

I know some contractors who this makes sense for. You could pile lumber, sheathing, or even set a small pallet of flooring on top of here while having built-in secure tool storage beneath in the bed of the truck. I’d probably want the headache rack accessory too then and maybe the extension. All of a sudden you are pushing $3k though. At what point does a nice aluminum trailer start to become a wiser investment?

I’m with you on the atv. I wouldn’t be hauling one up there.

I have a Diamondback cover on my 21 GMC and like it. No flutter going down the highway like some soft covers and can open the tailgate without lifting the cover. It does sit a bit higher than most bed covers so you lose a bit of visibility, but it is more secure than soft covers that as you said can be cut open, or many hard covers that can be jimmied with a hook to pull the cable release.

Seems like a terrible design since the middle doesn’t move… how do you haul something big in it since you can’t fold the whole thing out of the way ???

Just loosen 4 bolts/clamps under the middle section – only takes a minute.
