Dewalt 20v/60v Running Otter Pro LED Lights

I used a Dewalt heated jacket adapter and a 2.1×5.5 mm 12v power pigtail to wire into my Otter Pro LED lights so I can run them off either a 20v or 60v FlexVolt battery. I run the Clam adapter plate along with my Dewalt drill so it’s nice to have an extra battery. Hopefully someone else will find this useful, I didn’t see the need to build a dedicated battery box when I have plenty of Dewalt batteries around the shop!

I have been thinking about doing something like this for a long time. Nice to see someone make it happen. Good job!

That’s a cool idea, I have 4 of those 20v batteries lying around.

Awesome! I’ve added a second set of Otter lights and wired them together, draws more power but I’m getting more than a day’s worth of juice out of them so I’m happy.

Does the Dewalt jacket adapter deliver 12 volts from the 20 volt batteries? Where did you get the adapter?

    thanks!

Do you have any form of a link to the adapter. That’s a sweet idea. And I have 300 hilti batteries around the house

I just checked and the service part I ordered through Dewalt is no longer available. The part number is N288459 and it was $24 last year through Dewalt’s Servicenet parts system. I would think the generic ones would work just as well!

The generic ones do work just fine, the only draw back is the knock offs do not snap on to your battery using the battery lock. They just snuggly fit on to the battery, so they can come off the battery if bumped. Not a big deal. The only way to get a name brand Dewalt adapter that I know of is to buy a heated jacket.

The part number for the dewalt adapter is dcb091. My local hardware store has them in stock.

Interesting. Is it a Dewalt brand? If so how much? I’ve scoured the internet and I’ve found one for sale and it’s some guy on Ebay asking $53.

DCB 090 does not have the 12v port and those seem to be everywhere, including Fleet Farm.

    If it’s a DCB091 I’m very interested. Thanks

So its not a Dewalt brand then… you can get the knock offs like that one for as low as $18 on Amazon. Like I said these work fine but they don’t utilize the battery lock like the Dewalt ones do. Its not a big issue but it may be important for some to know.
