    Hello,

Me and a couple buddies are thinking about heading up to the DL area for some early goose hunting action this Labor Day, We have a few connections for land and thought about giving it a try, however if the hunting doesn’t pan out or we do good, is there any decent shore fishing opportunities this time of year? What areas of the lake should a guy think about during this early fall / late summer period. I have done a fair bit of shore fishing in the spring and late fall with good success, just wondering if its worth it to pack along some rods for this trip. Ideally I would love to bring the boat up and do a cast and blast, but we are already going to be pulling the decoy trailer so the boat is not an option….Would like to hear from IDO nation on some ideas….Thanks

The current areas around the bridges always have shore fisherman, easy parking easy access.

A couple buddies and I were in the area for a wedding a week or two before Labor Day weekend a few years back. We decided to rent a boat from the resort we were at. It’s the main or bigger resort, having such a brain fart right now can’t remember the name, but 1/2 day rates were reasonable

Are you thinking of Woodland resort?
THe bridges do offer some pretty good opportunities then,Mauvis coulee on Hwy 19 is my goto, but Six mile Hwy 57 and 20 bridges can also be good along with the bridge on the Woods Rutten road.
Tough to beat a leech on a floating Lindy this time of the year, but decent leeches get hard to come by here that time of year.
