Salmo Hornets casting , Slip bobber with leeches ,Cabelas Lemon Meringue plastic grub 1/8 jig and after accumulating thousands of dollars worth of lures a .99 cent Yellow Beetle Spin ! Caught them casting and trolling the Beetle Spin . The eyes we caught were definitely relating to the weeds. Tried rock piles on connected lake and nothing . It did not help a cold front came through and lowered the water temp. The guides were still getting clients their limits, i guess that’s why they get the big money grin Saw some phenomenal catches at the cleaning house brought in by guides .This the first time in 4 years we did not limit out in 2 days. We fished the 3rd day to get my buddys limit and i fell 2 short on the eyes. Must have caught 50 Northerns biggest being 32 . After the 2nd day the hammer handle northern were just wearing us out, it was a love hate relationship in the end
