Heading up there this Thursday through Sunday and was just curious if anybody has an idea of how the ice conditions are after this weekends weather. I did see that the forecast for this week says highs in upper 20’s to mid 30’s and low in the teens for evenings. Are they driving all around the lake and are there any areas we need to watch for? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!!

Yesterday I was on 18-22″ in east bay. Virtually no snow on the lake anymore, WEAR YOUR CLEATS! Still driving pretty much everywhere. Obviously avoid the bridges.

I was out all day Sat and Sun, ziebach and northend of six mile, I also drove, but from here on out there are going to be areas to watch for, areas where weeds and timber kept good snow cover, access points holding water, shallow areas where water warms fast after snows gone. With the ice being half as thick as normal going into spring, its going to deteriorate that much faster!I did hear another one went in on the flats this morning.
If you have access to an atv I think I would bring it, could be a trip saver, you could call the chamber office or baitshop before you come.

The snow is almost completely gone on the lake. Spent a few days on Creel and the ice didn’t seem to thin out at all. I didn’t have standing water, just a little wet. Cleats are the key. Headed to the north side of creel and found thinner spots near the powerlines. Ice was also a tough thinner near the flooded timbers in the bay, but thickened up relatively fast away from them.
