Nice. Post how the bite was when you get back if you don’t mind. That’s going to be our plan as well in Feb. I haven’t been there in a couple year. Itching to get back on those perch!

Heading up on the 10th. Going to try new waters for our group and hope to have some more spots for our March trip.

Im going with a buddy and we are not going with a guide service, I have been there 2 times with a guide service and am trying it without this trip. While I may not find the best bite on the lake, I think I can find us some fish, will post a report when I get back

Last time I was out with the Perch Patrol and a few Clam pros and we did pretty well. Will be starting with those spots and move if we don’t find the fish there. Taking a 20 ft wheelhouse so if we don’t catch a ton of fish I’m sure we will still be happy! grin

First time last wknd for me, drilled lots of holes looking for perch, got a few. 1 13 3/4 and a bunch of walleye. but the funnest part is we got on some white bass, they fight like a sunfish on steroids. the weather was awesome except for our last day then the wind and blowing snow made us hunker down in the houses. somehow i just couldnt pay what they want for guide

How thick was the ice? Is it possible to drive a pickup around on the ice?
    Thanks!

ice was 15-17, could go just about anywhere in a suburban but had to watch for drifts. was on creel and 6 mile mostly and out by the towers. had a breaker by towers that only had 4inches around it. side note did a 3 day trip for under$200 apiece for 3 guys with hotel. and a public fish cleaning joint was super nice. GOLD was the color

Thanks Rustbelt. I love it out there and the cost is one of the reasons. Super reasonable and nice places to stay. I’d love to get into some white bass. They are fun and are pretty good to eat too.

Nice! I’ve been hearing they are out deeper than normal this year. Is that what you found? I can’t wait to get into those round little footballs. So much fun.

Nice eyeguy! My buddy and I are going in his 22 ft wheelhouse and bringing portables. No guides but I’ve been with guides the last time I went and feel pretty comfortable on that lake.

Anyone have any snow reports? Some of the pics I’ve seen make it look like quite a bit.

If they get any more snow, it could be difficult to drive out in a truck and wheel house. There was a huge long pressure ridge out there too.

We did pretty good overall from our perspective, only fished Friday afternoon, all day on Saturday and Sunday until noon. Saturday was our best day by far. All of our perch came in 35ft to 38ft of water. Walleyes were relating to structure and we had most action in about 20ft
