I always just yanked them off the dogs but I found this simple cheap device that really works. I bought several to place in strategic locations so I would always have one. I have used them twice and they are slick.
Looks pretty slick, nice thing is you don’t pluck out a bunch of hair when you remove the tick as well!
I have the same thing felt really dumb buying it and almost embarrassed but it is definately nice. I just need more of them. I havent used it yet this year anyway because we found a good chewable tick treatment that has kept the ticks off.
I have a hard time believing it’ll remove a small tick
I have taken off two smaller wood ticks but not what I would call tiny. It didnt strip hair. You end up with the tick in the cup of the tool. I’m actually looking forward to using it again!
No touching of the tick? I might actually be able to get my wife to use it!
I imagine the tool must be smaller than it appears. It’s hard to tell by the Amazon photo. I’m very happy to have short-haired dogs. The ticks are fairly easy to see and grab off before they’ve even selected a location to stop and munch. I’m a known bug enthusiast… and I HATE ticks!
The tool is small (reference pic attached) and it removes more of the tick than you can by hand. And yes Ryan, no touching! Rinse down the sink with HOT water and you are done. My hope is less tick left in dog and less of a wound to heal. I have been dealing with those for many years.
