This will be a big boom for Rochester’s park system. The lakes already receive plenty of fishing pressure and if anything will go a long ways in providing some very safe and productive entry level fishing for young people and learning adults. One of Rochester’s many fire department houses is located on the shores here too….think safety and immediate response time. Winter fishing is perhaps the big draw here but summer fishing in canoes and kayaks and non-motorized boats in time will expand that season’s opportunities too.
All in all I think this is going to turn into one of the town’s hallmark parks with lots to offer. Ma and I walk the paths there on occasion when its warm enough and I am not one to leave the rod dry when we go there. Crappies, sunfish and bass abound. C/R is the game for me there but they sure are fun. Like I said, this park will be something when its finished.
