Delisting Wolves is getting closer

There is still activity going on to help in the delisting of Wolves. Unfortunately, there has been a decline in attendance and public push on the matter. Below is a link to a recent release from the WI Legislation. I urge all sportsmen to contact their appropriate representatives and ask for support in the efforts to delist Timberwolves.

Now is not a time to take a back seat and “wait and see” Tammy Baldwin has been pro on the delisting. We don’t want her to cave into the ultra liberals and follow through on her word to get management of the wolves back into the hands of the State and NOT federal.

    In WI
Senator Tom Tiffany 608-266-2509 Representative Adam Jarchow 608-267-2365

After speaking with Tom Tiffany’s office today, they asked they we all contact our Federal Congressman and demand immediate action on a bill to delist the wolves. It is always best to contact the congressman of your congressional district. Attached is a list of WI’s

I agree Randy, in order for wolf de-listing to occur it is not the in-state representatives who we need to contact. The decision to re-list was a federal decision, which means a federal judge said they were to be re-listed. The Endangered Species Act, is of Federal jurisdiction. The WI DNR and your State Reps have their hands tied because its above their control. The WI DNR will gladly set up another wolf season but they can not do it against the federal decision.

Point being, contact your Representatives in the House and Senate in Washington D.C.

I thought wolves had already been delisted, but we are now in a legal limbo because some judge in Washington DC said that there was a technicality in how this was accomplished?

Do they now have to be re-delisted?

Hopefully this can get rammed through quickly AND in a way where states in the Midwest cannot have their wolf management halted by one judge in DC.

Wasn’t the judge that tossed the wrench in things from Georgia or South Carolina or somewhere down south? I know the judge was reported to be a woman.

When the judgment passed that the wolves were delisted incorrectly, that automatically put them back as an endangered species protected under federal jurisdiction. There has been a bill sitting most of the year that includes delisting wolves for a few states and putting the management plans back to the state. Democrats refused to move on it. Now that we will have Republican control, this should move fast when the new session begins.

HOWEVER – WE need to speak up and have this passed ASAP. There will be many new things coming up this new year and we don’t want to have this sit idle while other things are focused on. Hate to lose an additional year in the process.
