Doesn’t look like you have had any problems yet Make sure and give us lots of pics to look at!
Future corn plot if it can dry up soon. It’s very wet in this area.

I am very jealous, I need more seat time.
That is going to be one heck of a spot there!!! I like the long narrow plot. Tear it up
Deer super highway going into one of my clover plots. That is out in front of the stand.

Good luck with all the prepping and planting. They look great so far.
Those look great, plenty of food going in there. How are the clover plots looking?
One is getting hit hard but there is a lot of grass and some empty spots. The other has no grass and crazy full. I have fertilizer for both and spray for the grasses. I’m going to seed the empty spots on the one.

I found the wheels and shaft for this old packer at an implement dealer. Got it for $75. We then went to the farm grave yard and cut the hitch and Frame off of an old planter. We are going to make it so it has wheels on one side for transport. We ran out of oxygen for the torch so my buddy will finish it up.

One of the clover plots that I fertilized. I’m jealous of this one as I put it in by my buddies stand. It is full if clover and no grasses or weeds.

SWEET deal on the cultipacker!! Clover plots looks great, keep at it!
Neat little bonus I found this spring on my new farm. My hay ground is 99% weed free and about 30% clover naturally! There are 2 or 3 varieties from what I can tell. One is huge and it is about 10″ tall! Got lucky. Deer are loving it. They eat it all night and then bed down in the long hay grass, then when I leave for work at 530 they are running around all over.
Makes sense now why in Decemeber they were jumping the high fence into the OLD cattle pen. I was wondering why they wanted to get into that tiny little enclosed area, but they were after the clover that I didnt know was there.
Clover is underrated. I need to pay more attention to that.

…Now that is good old redneck-un right there. Bet it works great to.? … rrr
deertracker,at least put a chrome stack on that old IH and give it a wax job!!
looks like an old 856 or 966 by the stack?
if you ever need want that old girl to smoke a little more so you can get done faster, let me know.
Nice clover plot. That looks just fantastic and it’s great to see the browse exclusion cage because that’s the real way to measure results. The number of guys who complain that their clover “isn’t growing”…
Nice job on scrounging up a real culti-packer. Wish I had one!

Here was one of the problems I had @sticker1. Last time I was up north I bought a new lithium ion backpack sprayer. I had never used one before and should have filled it with water first to get my walking speed dialed in. Lets just say I didn’t. I was spraying my clover and used up a plots for of chemical on only half the plot. I haven’t had my buddy check it yet. I hope I didn’t kill it off.

What did you spray on the plot? The simple calibration is something many of us have forgotten to do.
I have never used Cleth or similar, so I can’t tell you whether it will kill it, stun it, or neither. Cross your fingers
Oh yeah, I plant a ton of clover. I fall plant with rye to keep the weeds from even getting going. If grasses or weeds do show up I mow to keep them in check. I have tried a half dose of gly on a couple plots as an experiment, but that hasn’t been real successful. Really with a fall planted clover I haven’t had any weed issues until the clover gets 4-5 years old, starts to fade out and it’s time to turn it and replant. I’ve been lucky with my clover so I haven’t tried cleth YET, but I am sure I will need to some day. If I did need to spray it would be cleth with some crop oil from everything I have read.
I was super excited to see my clover plots the last few days. They were about 16 inches tall so they all got mowed. I’m glad that I got them to the point where they need to be mowed. Grouse’s clover mix is turning out awesome.
