    Is a rack strong enough to support the weight of a deer like that? Not to mention the force that it would have to absorb to stop the deer from falling. Just curious.

    I think when the deer was alive it’s body was wedged in the crack.

    You just might be right about that Gator……….. I hadn’t thought about that but it certainly would have been a thicker deer at the time of the fall.

    As for the strength of antlers, they’ll hold a deer quite readily if they grew well. Bucks are hoisted by the horns on meat poles all the time…………even little 4pt’rs. I do think Gator’s on it with this situation though…………..I don’t think the antlers are what stopped the fall.

    The more of the nice bucks I see down that way the more I think I should be takin the bow along in the rod locker.
