I had a great afternoon today….blooding my new Oneida Black Eagle ESC bow…and doing it on camera. My buddy sat just above me in a 2nd stand and got the whole scenerio on tape. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time…it was very cool…but I could feel a little extra pressure( ya know what I mean).
A spike came in at about 4:15 after some does/fawns had made us and spooked.
When I tried to draw initially he lookd up at me and I froze….he finally walked out and I was happy I had the bow set up at 75% let off because I held at full draw for nearly a minute before he finally gave me an angle through the boiler room. He went 40 yds and expired while we watched.
I shoot 67#@30″, use 29″ swagged 2216s with big Zwicky Delta 4 blds up front. This bow is very very quiet with Tarantula Supremes just below the ends of the limbs. He never flinched at 15yds until the arrow was through his chest. Go Oneida!!
I wish we could put video on this site! Here is a pic after we got home.
