Got this in a E-mail, not sure if it is legit or not?

These two bucks were locked together from fighting. The guy that
    found
them was going to his stand that evening, and heard a bunch of noise,
    so
he went to see what it was and found the bigger buck dragging the
smaller one(it was already dead). The big buck was wore out and it
    would
have either starved to death or been eaten alive by coyotes or dogs.
    He
shot the deer with his bow and got help to load them up. At the check
station, a game warden issued him a permit for the other one.he was
offered $30,000 for the two deer as they were(by some guy from New
    York).
He took them to a taxidermist and is having the two bucks mounted like
they are(full body mounts).Pretty cool huh?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were
found in Schulyer county, Illinois earlier in November 2003.

I just saw a picture in the paper today of a kid somewhere in WI that also shot a buck that had another buck’s head locked in the antlers. Just scanned the article & pic, so I don’t have very much info. Anyone else see or hear about the one in WI?

Just found the article. A 13 year-old from Prairie du Chien shot a 12 point buck that was interlocked with another 12 pointer on opening morning.

This brings up one heck of a question. If a hunter finds two bucks locked up solid and has only one tag can he take both of them or does he get to shoot only one and hope they seperate after ones dead. Does he have to pass up on both bucks because it might endanger the other? Whats the rules on this one if theres only one hunter i wonder.

I believe the thing to do is call a local law enforcement officer. If you can’t seperate the bucks, they’re both going to die. Under these circumstances, I don’t believe they can ask you to endanger yourself by trying to seperate them and will offer up a “road kill” tag for the second deer. I have heard in other cases that this was how the issue was handled. If the law gives you a tag for the second deer, I don’t think you need to worry about anything else. It’ll hold up in any court proceeding.

Sounds right to me kid. What would a guy be expected to do? Im shure they wouldn’t want you to bring your favorite saw to cut one side of the rack off the live buck, after hes already pissed after you’ve shot the one you wanted for the wall. YA they would probably tag the one for you.
