The mass is astounding, but just to put things in perspective I don’t think this buck is anywhere near a new world record typical. Most people don’t realize how much antler 44 inches is, but it seems to me that mass alone would not make it. I count the typical frame as being 5×5, but it’s hard to tell from the picture because the mass of the main beams covers a possible G4 on the right side (of the picture, left side of the deer), and the width and tine length are not that spectacular.

Maybe I’ll end up eating my words, but I’d judge this fellow in the high 180s net, possibly 200 gross unless that guy is really tiny. If I had to guess, the Hansen buck (below) is in no danger of being deposed by this one.

    Gianni,
I think your observations are along the right track. This animal has beaucoup mass in the antlers and that could be substantial in the score but not likely 41 inches. I think your guess of a 180 or 190 is about right.

Here is a little tip for ya when you shoot a ” buck of a lifetime”. When you take you take the pic make sure the tounge isnt hangin out . It make you look like you weren’t smart enough to get him in the first place

Spectacular mass, and very nice, but I also think Gianni is right on with his thoughts. Jack.

I also think you are right on track Gianni. This is a beautiful rack but it will get some serious deductions for the stickers.

NICE BUCK. BY LOOKING AT THIS PICTURE, I BELEIVE THIS BUCK MAY BE A 5X6 WITH THE LEFT G2 POSSIBLY BEING SCORED AS A NONTYPICAL POINT COMING OFF THE INSIDE OF THE MAIN BEAM.
