Indepth angling member JUSTAROOKIE nailed this 10 pt. on opening morning of the wisconsin deer opener this year. I will let him tell the story. All I have to say is he threw on stick on it before he harvested it. Nice Buck Tony. 10 pt. 21 3/4 spread.

November 25, 2003 at 4:34 am #1650Great buck – unusual too… he looks… Shaggy.
Is that just because of the snow, or am I missing something?

November 25, 2003 at 1:23 pm #1653We had some very wet weather up here Gianni. I think it’s just water soak bunching the fur………………..he’s bit challanged in shaking it off at this time!
Great trophy! Can’t wait to hear the story!

November 25, 2003 at 10:54 pm #1675Well boys heres the story…We were doing a drive in a horse pasture, it is made up of all pines and thornbriars. I knew big boys liked to lay in there because it is in a perfect location fields on both sides with a little stream runnin through with swamp on the other side of the field. Anyways I was driving and it is really thick. I have only one path through on the deer trail so i always pick up sticks and rocks to throw in the brush, well on a point where I know they bed I through a big stick and when it hit a so called log..the log exploded and i seen this big boy getting up. He got on the trail about ten yards in front of me and i smoked him in the neck. He then proceeded to run through the rest of our standers and was not touched… He ran about 300 yards and ran out of blood. My cousin Darrin found him and gave him and extra shot to make sure he was down for the count. When i got there i was a little excited. He has a 21 and 3/4″ inside spread. He weighed in at 200lbs. He looked run down as i said in another post a booner got harvested on the neighboring property and his twin is still around. I saw him too, his tail waggin and his rack swayin as he trotted into the swamp at about 200 yards out. A little far for my shotgun. He is a little busted up but not too bad. I rough scored him and he grossed 170 3/8 b/c nontyp, but i think he would be scored as a typical eight. The hair is all matted out from rain and snow.. i shot him about 4pm on sat. and we took pic’s in the snow on sunday. I just finished taxidermy school and i needed a project and this will be quite a project for me because he is huge and cuz he is shot in the neck..well thats my story and thanks for the congrats from everyone
