One of my brothers,Dylan, is friends with the son of the owner of this business. He said that they have a waiting list to hunt there……You have to book three years in advance. WOW! They are ranked like #1 in the midwest for trophy hunting lodges. What a rough life! You think it is cheap….no way. $1800 for three days and 2250 for 5. Too much for this guy.

Room 3 first photo was taken on land that a friend from work owns. 240 acres he and his brothers bought 10 years ago for around $300 an acre, it is a valley that is only accesable from a farmers land, right place right time I guess, wow…….

We bought our land about 10 years ago also. Paid $327 an acre for 260 acres in Buffalo County. My uncle use to own 900 acres right across from the main lodge from the Indebro’s outfitting camp. Parts of one of the videos he produced, I think “Monarch Valley”, was partially filmed on the uncles.

You can all thank Tom the next time you see him for the drastic price increase in hunting land since he has made these videos and sold enough of them so he can afford to buy up these overpriced woodlands. I personally have no use for him or his exploitation of Buffalo County.

Actually he leases the land from my friend, the prices would go up not matter what, they aren’t making any more of it and more people have disposable income for investment, land is a good investment, it dosen’t seem to lose its value ANYWHERE…….

bigpike take a look around land was never this high until this county was exploited by bluffcountry, but hey he is a business man and too bad i didn’t think of it first. He did, he has an awesome business, but don’t you once think that land went this high out of no where.

We just ran into Mr. Indebro a couple of days ago with one of his clients. We were setting up for a drive when we saw someone on a 4-wheeler race off. Next one of our drivers came upon a guy who had taken off his orange and was trying to hide. At that point we called off the drive for safeties sake. Then Tom came back to rescue his hunter. During the heated discussion that followed we found a smallish 7 point buck that the man had shot. All this was over 100 yds from a clearly marked fence line. Around here Tom is not well thought of except for a few that like to bask in his glory. His nickname is “tresspasser tom”

hmmmm. I didn’t know the details of some of the things going on down there, I’ll be sure to pass this info on to my friend who leases out his land, for him it helps pay the taxes but with a property as beautiful as his with bullwinkle walking around there are plenty of opportunity to make a little extra cash off of it…..

This same thing is starting to happen in Iowa, with the albia buck and some other good one’s being taken. Sure is a shame watching deer hunting get comercialized right before our own eyes. Only hope that the same thing doesnt happen to fishing. Imagine a 3 day trip to the mississippi for your chance at a 10 lb eye for 2250 dollars, yikes. Sure a lot of people condemn party hunting, but whats right about paying thousands of dollars for a rack? I’m not saying I dont think QDM is a good thing, its just that I’m not for the pay to play option I guess.

I met Tom and his wife 5 or 6 years ago at a little bar just outside of Alma. The one just northwest of town that follows the Buffalo river. Nice guy actually, but we only talked about him and not myself. Three of us lease over 500 acreas of prime hunting land close to where Tom puts up his hunters. We see these folks all the time. The cost for the lease is about 1500 bucks per person, which is about what Tom charges for a three day hunt, but we get the land for everything for the entire year. We have never had a problem with Toms clients. Been doing this for several years now. Unfortunately, deer hunting is going the way of everything else. Those who have it ($) get to play. The old days of driving the deer around the Snyder farm, Thiesein Ridge, Cook Valley, and countless others are gone. I will miss them severly. On the other hand my other property in St. Croix Co produced a 145 class buck on the last day of the season. Since I hunt from Burnett to Buffalo I can say that Buffalo is not the only place where big bucks reside. You can still get on land just as good and maybe even better in the Elmwood, Spring Valley area of Pierce Co. I don’t think Tom had anything to do with the high price of land. This is common everywhere in the state. If you want to buy Buffalo land, just wait until CWD hits and it will. How about next years “earn a Buck”? Buffalo is actually hard to hunt and I do see more deer in Burnett. Buffalo is not that hot. Sure we shoot deer there, but we really only hunt deer there around halloween and the opener. Of the three of us, we have not broken the 150 barrier, but 140’s are common as we usualy take one or two a year plus several does. You can’t wine abpout Tom. Where we lease we are always told “When ever you boys are done just say so, I have a list of others as replacements”. We are most likely going to let it go this year, because we can get twice the land at 1/2 the cost just a few miles north.

Anyone remember when there was hardly any deer in Buffalo co. I do. Like the years around 1973.

Welcome to the site Mr. B…I agree with alot of what you said in your post…..However I dont agree Buffalo doesnt have very many deer compared to others..I gues it all just depends on where you hunt…Some parts of Buffalo it’s no big deal to count 20-30+ deer on one deer drive….But other parts of the county are just average…I hunted the late T-zone with some buddies that wanted some does taken off there land….We did two little drives….an there were over 25 deer in the two drives…an they took 23 deer off there gun hunting…..that just gives u a grasp of how many deer are concentrated in some areas…an I feel Buffalo county is easy to hunt…With the steep hills an the run off there are ditchs made….These create great funnels for deer…With the steeper ditchs theres a place on top they cross and a place on bottom….an sometimes a place somewhere in the middle….I’m just talkin bowhuntin here…Its a complete different story gun hunting when you start driving them….
