Nick Stark of St. Paul shot this dandy 10 point while hunting in our party near River Falls WI this weekend. It is Nick’s first deer! He has been at it a while, but this more than makes up for it! He got it at well over 100 yards with a Federal Barnes Expander, and an Ultra Dot lazer scope. He is a beauty! And, while leaving the farm that night, Nick’s brother, (My brother in-law) saw this buck’s twin brother cross into our land! Still more out there! Cant wait to get back out!

    nice buck Nick,
those Barnes Expander slugs are the only think I put in my slug gun. they make amazing good tight groups. I just can’t seem to see bucks this nice very often. most would like to see a deer like that, let alone be his first deer. Jack.

We dug one of the slugs out of him, I wish I would have been thinking…I should have posted a picture of the round. Perfectly shroomed, and performed as advertised. Nick, maybe you could??

I have a barnes expander from the buck I shot two years ago. I will try and take a pic of it this weekend and post it next week. Shot him from straight on in the front, penetrated, bounced off inner rib cage, and I found it way down in the intestines. Worked perfectly, tore up the lungs on the way through.

They were BY FAR the best shooting slugs I ever put through my shotgun. Had two one inch groups at 100 yards. Easily as tight as my 30-06.

PS that is an awesome looking rack. I love the high symmetrical ones.

I agree. I shoot a 270 up north, and the accuracy of both my 870 w/Hastings barrel and my X2 with the Ithaca barrel are right there! When you shoot them, they stay shot! I have heard a lot of good things about the Winchester rounds as well, is it the Partition?
