This is me with the buck i shot on monday the 10th. It was weighed at archery headquarters at an amazing 255lbs. It scored 175 gross and had 14 points.

He came up from behind me and I didn’t know he was there until he was about 25 yards away. Then a squirrel made one of their odd noises and spooked him, but he settled back down and kept coming to me. I took one shot and down he went. I was always a believer that the big bucks move late, but I shot him at 3:50PM Crazy how things work out!

Theres a place i hunt where the locals say that the size of the deer are due too the calcium in the limestone. lots of seepage and a few springs and exposed limestone, i wonder how much this really has to do with the body size of big deer like this one. Was there much exposed limes stone around where you got him? Would’ve loved to have his hide on my floor, nice long hair on his hide.
