I have not seen the bad boy who made this rub but this is the buck I am holding out for. If I do not see him this year I hope he makes it through the rest of the season so he will be around next year

November 14, 2003 at 2:30 pm #1418If I can remember this weekend I will get a picture of the rub on my uncles permanent stand. A buck has been rubbing the 2×6 that supports his box stand.
Last year we had one that was rubbing on our fence posts with barbed wire on them. Our neighbor ended up getting that buck with his bow and it was a heavy 11 pointer and the bases of his antlers and head were all chewed up from the barbed wire.

November 17, 2003 at 2:55 am #1454Here’s another rub from a monster. we stumbled upon this rub while we were out Geocaching (looking for hidden cache with GPS) It’s a good way to learn to trust your GPS. http://www.geocaching.com It was in a park nearby that’s closed to hunting but surrounded by huntable land. My boy was 4 at the time for some perspective. I haven’t been back since but have sure been thinking about this since it’s deer season!
Ferny.

November 19, 2003 at 3:10 am #1515You guys might not beleive this but a block and a half from my house theres an 8″ tree that two years ago a buck was standing on his hind legs and rubbing 7′ to 8′ off the ground. He tore this tree up! He’s gone now and im not so shure that it wase’nt poached by the local guys on the railroad because i talked to a switchman who said he got hit by a local switching engine, they only go about 10 miles an hour so i can’t see where he got hit by it. Anyway i wish i would have gotten pictures of this rub, now the barks growing back around the tree but its still there. I’ve seen 10′ trees with serious rubs on them, the bigger the tree the bigger the buck. Theres some unbelievable bucks out there doing some amazing things!

December 5, 2003 at 8:41 pm #1862Here are a couple pictures of some trees that I came upon during shotgun hunting. I have been hunting this area of Wisconsin for a while now, and have come across many rubs in the woods. When I came across these rubs on the outskirts of Ellsworth Wi. city limits though I thought I was either in Pike County, Illinois or Buffalo County Wi. I had seen rubs like these in hunting shows, but not around here. I never seen any bucks that week that could have made these, but I talked to someone who might have though. He told me that they got a few shots off at a hog, but he was headin for the city limits. I will be Muzzleloader back in that area tommorow, but if I know that Big Boy, he is probably sitting behind the Dairy Queen in town. lol

December 5, 2003 at 8:52 pm #1863Another pic. You can see where the main beam of the buck was rubbing on the tree behind the main tree.

December 6, 2006 at 3:29 am #26685Some of you may remember this post from 3 years ago, well this is another tree on the same rub line and I am hoping that the bad boy who made this rub made it thru the gun season. I wonder if it is the same buck from three years ago???
