Pumped for opener

    With the Minnesota Deer Opener about 65 Hr’s away I am getting pumped. I snuck out to the woods last Sun. to hand up some scent drippers. I could not believe how much new buck sign ( Scrapes and rubs ) had showed up just since the previous weekend. Then on my drive back to my buddies house I almost hit 2 different decent bucks mid day, so I know the Rut activity is picking up. With the colder temps in the area this week and possibly some snow the day Prior to opener I think we may be hitting the rut just right. I only managed to get time to hunt 2 three day weekends this year ( Sat, Sun, Mon. and Fri, Sat. Sun. ) but I am really looking forward to it. Bring on Sat. morning. Time to put the down on a few deer. Good Luck to everyone and be safe !!!

    You hunting close to home? I have been driving the stretch from 19, North on 27 in to Savage and have seen pretty minimal activity. It can’t come fast enough!

    No I hunt in central Minnesota. All of this activity was in that area

    Getting excited for this weekend to. Got our stands tended to a few weeks back. Guns sighted in. Fleet farm yesterday to pick up some last minutes stuff. About the only things left to do are buy our licenses and pack the truck. Should have that done tonight.

    Weather looks fantastic for this weekend. Not to hot. Not to Cold. Should be another good opener this year.
