Last sit of the gun season for me. Not sure if I will get out for muzzleloader or with the bow. My view for the evening.

Dad got a buck from my stand. Chasing a doe, he gave him a easy 115 yrd shot!
Had feet sneaking along this brushy edge all day in the wind. Sitting over food tomorrow.
Had a couple buddies sitting for the WI Gun Opener, said it was pretty slow. The wind put a damper on their activity but they were able to put eyes on small bucks and a big boy in the early AM when the wind was laying down. I was making fun of him for having to sit all day freezing his butt off, and of course James says we are headed up to Ely to film a show this weekend…..Joke’s on me, now it’s my turn to freeze!
Headed out for an all day sit. Lets see if we can put this Creed to work.
Oh no.,.. shut the heater off because it was getting too hot in the shack. Now the valve is stuck off. Olivia and I might have to rough it
Anyone still seeing rut activity? 7+ hours over a heavy scrape line and nothing yet.
I saw chasing yesterday an one small buck chasing this morning .
Really bummed. Waited almost 10 minutes for a monster to clear a brush line and give a shot. Half rack with 7pnts. Would have been very nice if he was still sporting the other side. About 4″ outside his ear. Otherwise 2 tiny bucks and 2 yearlings popped out at 4:45 and that was it
Report from SW Wisconsin. Had 6 bucks chasing a doe, all were 1.5 to 3.5. Deer were on their feet chasing today. They saw 9 bucks today, with a giant spotted.
Wintery mix today and howling winds. Wrong wind direction for where I wanted to sit. Hopefully grappa buck works the trail just inside the wood line this morning
Had a lot of activity considering the crappy conditions until about 8:30…then nothing. Nice though, I see no orange anywhere, no trucks on neighboring ridges. Peaceful morning
Day 4 of windy crap. Another day of not getting to where I want to be
The only word to describe the Wisconsin northwoods is SLOW! I seen 1 doe opening day 9 does and 3 bucks Sunday. a spike, a fork, & a buck I should have shot but I am still not sure how big it really was. Had to work Mon thru Wed. Will be heading back up Wed night. Talking with my dad and brother, I’m not missing much. Has anyone else noticed the extremely high percentage of fawns shot?
Had does working around and had a 2.5 8 cruise by around 8:30. The camera says it’s pretty much clock work for the does, the bucks have gone poof!!

They definitely changed their patterns. I don’t have them dialed in….. Had a lone small 10 pnt come into corn at 1 am and gone by 2. Not even the little guys coming into food plot. Hope fully the steady weather over the next couple days will restore their patterns. I saw 1 doe and 2 yearlings in sitting about 10 hours
Really slow here seen only one deer so far. Son in-laws group got 5 does and a 5 pt with 5 hunters. They hunt in two different areas 20 miles apart.
I am not super optimistic about this evening but it feels so good to be in the woods without any orange on !
Just got caught by the doe’s suckered play. 7 does ran out to 50 yrds from us and I let my daughter practice aiming. Meanwhile a nice buck snuck around us
Half a dozen does came out into the field, followed by what I would imagine was a buck, just got a little too late. The deer weren’t acting like it was rifle season in Wisconsin…..hopefully it continues!
Im headed out in the morning for an all day sit. The weather looks like its going to be decent.
Randy:
One of the dudes I know that guides up north and is duck hunting right now sent me a pic of his sister who shot a very nice 8-10 point. He said the buck was tending to a doe near one of his food plots about an hour SW of ya…

Loading my truck wow its a balmy 1 degree . I think a ground blind with heater is the plan.
