    Good morning all!

As I have left my native WI and moved to TN for a golden opportunity for the FW, I am now tasked with finding some deer hunting land. I am looking at a couple lease properties tonight, but they are about an hour south of here. I live in a southern suburb of nashville and I have heard that there are excellent trophy bucks in these suburban areas. So before I sign a lease, I am going to start cruising some of the locals roads in search of deer.

I seem to remember a thread from a couple years ago (possibly by Gobbler) with a bunch of tips on how to secure new property. However, I can’t seem to locate that thread now. Do any of you remember this one? Also are there any tips that you all would have in talking with landowners?

    Thank much!

I just brought it to the top of this forum. A good refresher!

Best of luck finding a place to hunt.

Just got thinking about the land I am looking at tonight. It was advertised to be leased so I know the owner is open to it being hunted.

The question I have, is it rude to ask to put up a trail camera or two before signing a lease? The owner told me that the property is all wooded so I am a little concerned about the numbers of deer it will hold. Therefore,I would like to get an idea of the quantity of deer there before signing. Thoughts?

I’ve always said, the worst they can say is NO. I’m guessing if you get a feeling started with him/her initially, they will let you.
