For some reason or another this year I’m having the hardest time locating a good buck. I’m doing things identical to the past couple years and the big boys are either not around or just haven’t shown themselves. I attribute it to the late spring/winter, crops changing, and even some locations that didn’t get planted at all.

Well, I finally glassed one last night for about a minute. I believe this is a buck I passed at 5 yards in 2011 as a 2.5 yr old in late Oct. and saw him one time in Nov. 2012 (not hunting) as a 3.5 yr old. I didn’t get the best look at him last night since he was on the edge of a field but I can tell you that he has grown since last year. He is on a neighboring property but I know where he will be come late Oct. thru late Nov.

The excitement level just went from 0 to 60. Let the game of cat & mouse begin.

*I included 3 pics of him from the past 2 years and hope to include another later this summer or early fall.

Best phone call ive had in awhile sir….lemme know how I can help tag this bruiser for you. Bring on the cooler weather, its almost game time, although maybe this yr I can beat you to the punch on shooting one early season like its supposed to happen. Got the turnips in and a good one in the vicinity
