    As if this cool weather wasn’t enough to get the pre-rut going in me, the pics I got off our cameras last week have me super charged.

    Here is this buck in 2012:

    Now in 2013, at least I think it’s him.

    We are missing a couple bucks I was really hoping would make a return appearance this year. Maybe they just haven’t shown up on our place yet. At any rate, this year looks to be another promising fall. I spent 2.5 days helping Dad and getting my to do list knocked out. Now it’s time to kick up the practice pace.

    Here are some updated pics from SD. I seriously will be having dreams for a month + now. Can’t hunt until Oct 3rd this year. Extremely excited!

    #3 on my hit list. This deer lived on our place most of last summer too then disappeared. Not many pics of him this summer either. He did gain a point on his left side. He will top 300lbs this year if he grew at all.

    The big 5 – he is a bit more nocturnal than the other bucks. #2 on my wish/hit list.

    Drum roll plz, my #1 wish list deer. He’s a wide 5×5 with a sway in his right brow tine. He will further be known as Sway. The best part of about this buck, he likes to walk in the daylight about 25 yards from my box blinds.

    Man, the big 5 and Sway are darn nice bucks. Wish you guys luck out there this year on putting some bone on the ground
