If you haven’t already, now is the time to get them going. I put out my first application this past weekend in South Dakota. I placed my trail cams and now I wait. The deer are just starting to break up and head out of their wintering areas to the more traditional “homes” they live in most of the year.

As I was updating my budget for the year, I’ve contemplated is it really worth the money I spend on minerals. The truth is, it’s very hard to prove with out a doubt scientifically that the minerals have a direct impact on antler growth. However, I do believe by giving the deer the minerals their bodies need makes them overall more healthy. We are seeing a lot more twins and triplets in our our deer the past couple years.

It appears Patrick Meitin over at Realtree feels the same way. A product that is endorsed by an industry leader such as Dr. Kroll along with the trail camera photos from the last year further prove my investment is worth it. Check out Patrick’s article here: Nutra Deer works out west too!

Very true Kooty. last year at this time we had all of our sites done. I truly believe that minerals will give you a healthy deer herd and a healthy deer should put more inches of bone on I will be Using Nutra Deer again this year

    I agree koot..

if your going to put them out dont wait till fall now is the time..

as far as benifits to the herd.. that all depends on the area… farm lands dont need it as much but the truth is right now there is not much out there for them.. the early start before everything greens up in my opinion is going to benifit your heard the most..

after a long hard winter them minerals will definatly help anywhere for putting on a few extra inches.. and fawn survival..

if your going to spend the money do it now!
