Looks good. I didn’t boil mine last years enough and now I have some discoloration. Time to re-bleach…. Mind doing a write up on your procedure?

    Randy,
What i do to whiten mine is use a spray bottle with hydrogen-peroxide, spay it down and let it sit in the sun, do this a few times and it will turn as white as white can be. bleach can be curosive to the scull.

I’ll share what I can being a novice/rookie. To this point, paying my Dad’s neighbor to do the hard part was money well spent….

I also ordered this kit, just waiting it’s arrival.

    Tannery

I’ll be mounting the head on the attached skull plate.

My buddy did his own this fall also. His wife is former hair stylist. She suggested the following recipe:

    Quote:

I just boiled mine with a Dawn – AKA degreaser and then power washed the heck out of it. Then I used a suggested 40 weight lifting agent to whiten the skull. It’s less harsh than a bleach because it’s a hair product and it worked great. Left it on for about an hour and it cleaned it up well, then just rinsed and I was done. Of course being married to a cosmetologist helps in the availability of getting the lifting agent too.

It appears both ways due about the same, now I just need a board to mount it on and James is working on a guy that he knows that builds them and trying to do a big lot purchase.

Did you darken the antlers or is that just the picture of the skull that makes the antlers look darker than the trail cam? I like the dark antlers.

Nothing done to them since I shot him. They are very dirty. It’s very odd.
