This is my 50th year hunting with a rifle…I’ve loved every one of them. Funny how a retired guy has less hunting time than before…my own fault I guess. I took a full time (sub)teaching position this fall, for a gal who has been very ill
I am a trophy buck guy during this time for several years. I have a trail cam in a central area on the edge of a large cedar swamp. There are no farms, food plots or feeders here, just the state forest, so I don’t see many deer, but there are some big boys lurking.
I passed these two young bucks last weekend along with the little forkie and a spike. We got 3″ of snow last night and the temp is 18 right now… I am out of here until dark!
(and will be ready for late bow season! )
    Good Luck to everyone!

Tom, some days I wonder if I’ll live that long
Hope that trophy comes along for you!
I shot my PB buck on our opening day. Unfortunately, its at the taxidermists with someone else’s tag on it still pretty bitter about it Good luck my friend

That happened to me with my 1st buck in Illinois

You’ll have to call me some night and give me the story…

BTW…watched lots of critters but no deer tonight…
