My team ended up 10th, 1st place killed everyone with Willowcats. He also was in a team that prefished all week and had alot of great spots. Hats off to them we only prefished 1 day and ended up 10th so I was not that unhappy. Grass really hurt us on day 2.
The buck we called Trip met his demise on Sunday night during Wisconsin’s firearms season . He was killed by the sister of a local landowner not 500 yards north of my place . He has a 24″ spread and 15 points. No report of score or weight. I hope they weighed him. The first 2 pics are from this year. The third is the first pic that we got in 2009 that gave him his nickname for Triple beams, he had a little trouble growing tines in 2010 then he absolutely blew up in 2011 in the 2 color day pics. The velvet pic is unbelievable . I never did get a daytime pic of him so my chances were slim to none anyway. That doesn’t stop my son from getting pretty upset as he started hunting last year and would proclaim that his deer. I reassured him there would be other bucks that would take his place. But the memories are fun to have. Will try to get pics of him. They already sent him in to taxidermy and I couldn’t get any of him from them. Good luck to all the Wisconsin gun hunters in the last half of the season and be safe!
Well, I gotta say I’m disappointed. I had really hoped for the fairy tale ending for this great deer in your hands. A magnificent trophy for the lady! Congrats to her!
Hopefully his gene’s were passed on to a few up and coming bucks for next year. Heartbreaking when you have your mind set to a single deer and it ends this way.
