Today is the first day of SD east river rifle season. My dad was able to sit this AM while his wonderful wife and sister-in-law picked up the slack of delivering pheasants. He only saw one deer but it was the right one from the box blind that I killed 3 deer from last week. However, it never offered a shot. He also saw a coyote but again no shot.

This evening both Mom and him were in our original box blind we built two years ago. Mom laid the wood to this nice 4×4. This is her second deer ever and a major upgrade from last year’s buck. She shot him at about 75 yards, he went another 20 and tipped over.

I’m so proud of my Mom. She is deathly allergic to this wonderful critters and I promise she will be stuffed up like crazy all night from this simple picture. It’s so awesome seeing my folks being able to enjoy the fruits of our labor together. I’ll be home on Wednesday night, hopefully Dad hasn’t filled his tag yet so I can spend some time in the blind with him.

Congrats Mom! I can’t wait to see what you shoot next year.

Good work Kooty! It is awesome that you can continually put your parents on good deer year in an year out! It must be awesome to share those experiences with them.
