I pulled this from another site and some of you may find this very interesting-i know i do This article summarizes a study done on how barometric pressure effects deer movement. Deer movement is at its best when the BP is between 30.00 and 30.40. Movement stopped above 30.40 according to the OP. For those of you that keep a journal on the days you killed or saw a lot of deer, i encourage you to look at this website, check the pressure, and share what you found!!
I looked back at my journal and the theory reflects my deer sightings

I haven’t had time to look up my days in SD to compare them to the BP. I know of two days that were much better than any others as far as deer spotted.

My dad has sat 5 times since last Saturday’s rifle opener and he’s not seeing anything for deer movement. I need to look up those days also.

This is one of the aspects of hunting/fishing that intrigues me the most. I need to start paying closer attention and recording this type of info. Anybody else with a journal? I have had some cameras soaking for longer than that and will be checking them tomorrow looking closely at these dates. .

I have a Mossy Oak weather app that tells the barometric pressure in 72 hours in advance. I haven’t hunted since Tuesday, so i will check a camera that was in a deep valley tomorrow morning, and check the barometric pressure

If anyone gets out tonight let me know if you saw anything. The pressure is supposed to be 30.48 and according to the article, deer movement should shut down 30.4+
