What do you guys do with the ribs and rib meat on your deer? We have always cut the strips from between the ribs and thrown them in with the trimmings. These pieces sure dont look like much and wonder if it is even worth doing this. Have heard that some guys will cook the ribs but there again it looks like it would be a good afternoon of chewing to get to what little is there.

Is it worth while messing with the ribs for most of you guys?

We hang them in the woods for the birds.. Private land of coarse.

We used to think the same thing about jerky strips to but when you look at them it looks like some very tough meat with a lot of gristle on it.

So hang it in the front yard for all the neighbors to enjoy?

We don’t keep the rib meat either. My husband and his dad have found it’s just not worth the time for the little extra meat you get.
