What to do…What to do??

Let me get your opinion on the proper tactic for this situation. I found a large scrape over a week ago and naturally put a camera there. Today, I retrieved the card and found 4 shooter bucks coming to this scrape(which is now 3 scrapes and I could easily lay down in 1 of them)…along with numerous smaller bucks/does. Of course, most of the pics are night, but not all.

My question is…there is only one tree that I could hunt this scrape out of that is 15 yds away. If I put a ladder stand up, will I spook them? It’s a funky tree and I don’t think i can get a hang on or a climber to work. Or should I set up 40-50 yds away and try to intercept them(crap shoot)?

If your confident in your shooting at 40 yrds, I would opt for a ground blind. Just make sure it is scent free and well blended in. I’ve run into this a few times at my farm with nice bucks that just “corner” my property. Seems like they know when a new treestand is put up

Where are they coming from? Where are they headed? Is it close to morning or evening shooting hours? I would back off about 150-200 yards in the direction that will give you your best shot at one of them during light. I wouldn’t hunt over the scrape. Try to intercept them in a transition area. Good luck on what you decide.

Is this A “boundary” scrape Along a field Or a “breeding” scrape in the timber?

I would look for a tree down wind most of the time they’ll just scent check once things get going. Move yoiur cameras back to see what trails they are using when coming in. good luck

Its in the middle of the woods. I’m going to move the camera to try and figure out their path today. All the pics that I have are at different times and it appears that the different bucks are coming in at different spots. I’ll update tonight if I find something new.
    Thanks
