I added a new water hole on our farm. With this dry dry dry year I figured giving them what they need as easy to access as possible would do nothing but good. I had a hole dug out with the tractor, but the sandy soil would not hold water, so I went to Menards and bought a kiddy pool and buried it. Put a cam on it and had this buck on cam the first week

My buddy and I targeted water sources last weekend in SD. Dry as I can ever remember it back there.

I put in this water tank July 20th. It had roughly 250 gallons when we started. The deer didn’t hardly drink much throughout most of the summer. Sporadic pictures. However, in the last month, it has went down considerably. I put another 175 gallons in it to get through the fall.

One of my stands is about 50 yards away from a natural watering hole. I just hope it is still holding water in a month from now.
