I call BS. That steelie didn’t “drop” out. A chick that fat has her own gravitational pull.

    Oh contraire monsieur

Story has it (Matt can’t keep quiet in a bar)….he got this chick home and just as she was about to sit on his face, she went into a bad case of the quief’s.

Prior to the steely she pushed out 2 spent dick wrappers of which Matt was able to identify by taste…… #6 and Kooty had already been there. After a few more strong bush farts, Matt made claim of a head crowning at which time he freaked out and ran from the room.

As time went on Matt was able to collect himself and just had to take a peak through the door. To his amazement Bowman was laying there and this chick was licking him off like a newly born fawn.

I know it sounds far fetched but as we all know bar rumors got to be true….right?

    Instant Gratification

Jared’s first Archery Deer – A very nice 8 point buck

    The Story–
My wife and I decided to get my son, Jared, a bow for Christmas in 2010 when he has was 12. It was a Diamond Razors Edge. I chose this bow because of its ability to grow with him. This bow had an adjustable draw length and weight. Not the type of Christmas present that excites a kid immediately, but a present I knew would bring him years of enjoying the outdoors. The type of present that you need to invest time into before you will reap any rewards from. No instant gratification.

He spent the next year and a half shooting at targets in the garage, working on his form and his aim. Thankfully I have no holes through my garage, but did have a hole in a paint can his cousin hit while trying out the bow!! We then proceeded to go out to my brothers farm site where he could practice more from a distance. Once he was shooting consistent groups at 20 yards, we moved to him to a tree stand in the yard, and practiced at a deer shooting target. After he was consistent on shooting from a tree stand, and I was confident in his safety in using a tree stand, I knew he was ready for his first hunt.

Unfortunately, he was not able to hunt the first day of the Archery season this year. We were first able to get out Sunday afternoon for an evening hunt. My brothers had done some preseason scouting of the area and stated that the deer were usually coming up from the creek area in the evening, following along the edge of the woods through a small strip of soybeans, up to the fields at the top. Usually by sunset, they were numerous deer in that location. I have a tree stand in the woods that is within 25 yards of the edge of that soybean field. This stands location would be a perfect archery location to intercept a deer on their evening foray in the fields.

My 12 year old daughter, Ali, had just completed her Firearms Safety Education and was interested in going along with Jared and I that Sunday afternoon. I have not hunted deer with a bow, I have only hunted during the firearms seasons, so we went just to experience the outdoors and to spend time educating her on whitetails. Jared was in the stand and Ali and I were south of him about 200 yards watching over the lower portion of the soybean field. The field is L shaped, with woods on all sides. We were sitting on a slope, that was a mixture of grass, weeds, thicket and some trees, above the soybean field. We were not wearing any camouflage, nor did we have anything to disguise of scent. We were sitting in some short grass next to a tree. I explained to my daughter, that if we were actually hunting, we should sit behind a thicker patch of weeds to conceal our outline, but since we were out to enjoy the outdoors we selected the most comfortable spot. About 20 minutes after we arrived, a doe and fawn entered the field and began to graze. They were working directly towards us. Since we were not hunting, I decided to shoot pictures of them with my phone. They were within 20 yards on us when the doe detected a slight movement. She continued walking towards us, within ten yards, staring right at us. At that moment, she winded us. She wheezed loudly, which I think spooked my daughter greatly, and also the fawn, as she ran off. The doe wheezed again, and then waved good bye with her tail and raced after the fawn. It was a great experience for my daughter, learning about concealing and camouflaging yourself, scent control, movement and sound. It was also the closet my daughter has been to any wild creature. She was ecstatic!!! As it was getting near sunset, we worked out way back to the truck, encountering several more deer along the way. I spoke to her about slow movements, how to stalk and keep you sounds to a minimum. When my son got back to truck, he was very excited. He had an 8 point buck with a smaller buck come by along the soybean field, but he did not have a good shooting lane for a shot, and let them pass. He wanted badly to take a shot, but knew well that any deflected shot would result in a wounded deer or miss, giving up his location. He also had that doe and fawn come directly under the stand, with a solo doe coming by as well.

We were unable to hunt on Monday evening as he had a Football game. He was able to go out on Tuesday with his cousin after football practice, but I could not go with as his sister had a volleyball game. He was able to clear some shooting lanes and did again have deer come through that he passed on in anticipation of that 8 pointer he saw on Sunday.

After football practice on Wednesday, he rushed in the house and wanted me to take him hunting, as his cousin, Adam, who was recently honorable discharged from the Army, with a tour in Iraq, could not go out that evening. I also could not take him, as I had a Board meeting, so my wife said she would drop him off and could pick him after sunset. My son had texted me at the meeting that he had needed my brothers phone number, as he was also in the woods hunting that evening, as he could get a ride home from him. I felt a lot better that he had someone out in the woods with him, although he has enough experience and training the last 4 years to go it alone. He has also hunted the firearms season with me since he was 10 years old.

About an hour and half later, I got a text from him that stated, “I shot the 8 pointer”. As a father, a hundred thoughts run through your mind in that instant. Is he down? Did you stay in your stand? Are you sure you hit him? Where did you hit him? What direction did he run? Why does it have to be tonight, I am stuck in a meeting? Are you Ok? Etc. After ten minutes I was able to excuse myself from the meeting for a bit and call him. He stated he heard the thud of the arrow and was pretty sure it hit where he had practiced. He said the buck came up from behind him this time, through the woods, rather than along the soybeans. He was able to slowly get up and draw, waiting for the deer to get in a shooting lane. The deer entered the shooting lane broad side facing about 10 o’clock. When the moment came, he did not hesitate. The buck took off up the hill. He followed his movements as we talked about, and when he was out of sight, he thought he heard it crash. As we were talking on the phone, my brother was walking to his stand. They waited for about a 30 minutes and starting to track him as it was soon getting dark. They found him at the top of the hill, just where he heard him go down, about 50 yards. The Diamond Razors Edge Bow and the Rage 2 broadheads had done their job, a quick and clean kill. My Son had done his too, a Father and Sons Gratification.

Great story! It actually gave me tingles and makes me remember my first years bowhunting. It’s something I’m sure he’ll never forget. Congrats to your son on the great buck
