Team 2 is on the board. Passed a lot of deer while sitting with the bow, but last weekend for the rifle opener, they weren’t so lucky. One doe taken at 8:30 Saturday morning, the other was taken at 4:00 Saturday afternoon.

    21 points for team #4.

Right G3 was split. The broken tine still has enough left to score a legal point. Also broke off left G4, but the remaining amount is not quite enough to be legal.

Would have been a 6×6, if all points were present.

Got a second opinion at the office to be sure.

Contest updated. Team 17 is still leading, but team #4 is coming on strong.

Thanks for all the entries so far! We are on the home stretch of the fall season.

Team 2 scores more. This is an 8 pt. The G3’s are broke off from fighting but they both measure more than an inch, even though it is hard to tell from this picture.

5 points for Team 17. Its an antlered doe-the “spike” covered in velvet was 2 3/4″ long. All female parts…weird.

I want to give my apologies to my fellow team #16 members. I had hoped to get out last weekend to close the WI bow season, but the south wind wasn’t out of the right direction. In self evaluation, I had hoped that being a team member would get me into the woods a bit more for whitetails, but a young lab that hadn’t seen much of my time the prior two years needed me more this year.

It was a successful bow season though as I got my first priority off my bow bucket list by shooting my tom this spring. More goals for this year to include another spring tom and a little bit more bow hunting for deer. My boss and a few friends are in NM spot and stalk mulie hunting right now, boy would that be better than work right now…
