Well, the first hunt of the season is over…no blood drawn.
My brother and I left last Wednesday, for a four day bender, to bow hunt whitetails near Bismarck, ND.
We hunted exclusively PLOTS land and saw a lot of deer. We each had a couple dozen chances to shoot does and small bucks (both velvet and hard horned), but we passed on everything we saw.
We did see three shooters (two shedding their velvet and one hard horned), but none provided shot opportunities.
Tons of fun to watch the sun crest the horizon, see your breath and experience the adrenalin rush when the rustling of grass, crunching of leaves and snapping of twigs, closes in on your stand location.
So glad fall is finally here!
