Feels great sitting back in the quiet woods this am. Gun season ended yesterday in my area. Bring on the deer.

Loaded up on nyquil and slept all day, back in stand now. Quiet, light wind in my face and overcast. Tonight could be the night

Set up in a permanent stand made by the land owner. Its located about 1/4 mile off a picked corn field in the timber. Already had a 4 pt walk under me

7 baldies and 2 scrubs so far. Lots of shots around me. Hope they let a couple walk.

My deep thought of the morning…I’ve determined that while the deliciousness of a

kit Kat bar is insurmountable, the quality of the chocolate on an almond joy is much better.

    Herd of deer
    flock of turkeys
    murder of crows
what do you call three bobcats together? Because I just had three walk by. I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t seen it. They sure are stealthy!

I call it a construction site. Seriously, I would love to see one.

Back in the Waiting Game stand where I killed a nice ten two weeks ago and then a smaller wounded 10 yesterday. Gonna have to be big, 150+, for me to put the hammer down today.

Really slow after the gun season, no evidence that my one shooter is still around, its about meat today. Would just be happy to see something today.

I thought yesterday was slow! Everything must be shot or hunkered down. Not one deer yet and the neighbors have been driving all morning. I would have thought they would push something past me.

I’m sitting in the breezeway waiting for the sun. Dad can’t hunt so I’m going after song dogs.

Spotted 3 bucks this morning. Nothing that Dad would have shot anyway. Back at it this afternoon.

Another dramatic swing in the weather. The colder weather should get them moving but this wind will most likely leave me with few sightings tonight. Sustained 30 mph with higher gusts here. Tomorrow night should be real good when the winds die down. Any one else out tonight?

This is my second favorite day to hunt all year , pretty windy but what can you do? Set up on an inside corner trying to cut one off before it gets into the corn and bean field. I can not explain how badly I want to follow a blood trail in the snow . And for the record, the heater body suit is crazy awesome !

I’m sitting with child #2 hoping for a yote while Grandpa has child #1 in the other blind. Way too nice after a very chilly morning.

Slow the last couple of days. one buck, one yote, and a handful of does. The snow helps but I just can’t seem to pick the right tree! Today is a new day!

Bittersweet day. Last sit of the year in SD for me. East breeze is stiff and cool. Hoping I get to see Dad tag out this AM.
