After the weather broke up tonight, deer started moving like crazy, had 8 does come through within 15 yds including a couple like this one right under the tree!

Back in a tree for the first time in 14 days ! I love hunting in all forms, but being camoed in to a knarly oak is my favorite place in the world. Set up about 100 yards off a corn and bean plot hoping to intercept a heavy horned 8 point !

Well I’m sitting in one of my favorite spot hoping to see a nice big doe tonight that I can take down with my bow for the first time! My daughter-in-law and future daughter-in-law have already beat to the punch so I guess now it’s my turn. Wish me luck!

Wind was no good for the brassicas so I’m back over the soy and winter rye. Can’t help but feel positive. Last time i was in this stand i had a great encounter with a shooter.

Back in the timber over a half acre winter wheat and clover plot. First time it has been hunted this season and half the plot is eaten down to the dirt. The camera took 2300 pictures between sep 10 and oct 5. I also convinced the future wife to come out for this one , hoping to let her hear a thwack!

Another great morning to be in a tree in Wisconsin while trying to post last night. I had a upper 130s sneak in behind me. needless to say I couldn’t get my phone back in my pocket in time to grab my bow from the hanger! !!! Ended up seeing 3 Bucks 2 were hit list and 1 was a new buck. 6×6 probably upper 160s 55 yard’s lots of brush so no shot

I just got busted by a really nice shooter! (60 yds) It’s amazing, all the scent free soaps, clothes, made no movement, thought I selected best stand location for the almost non existent wind this am? Unbelievable , how they can sometimes bust you. What are the odds of seeing that guy again any time soon? How long do they avoid an area after sensing something’s not right?

Depends how bad you spooked him. If he just sensed something, he may avoid it for a few days. If he got a snout full of you and he busted out of there like you lit his tail on fire, then it will take some time or a hot doe for him to come back. Do you think he saw you, smelled you or smelled where you walked in?

Had a doe and nubbin come through at about 9 and have had two 1.5 yo 8s in range….sure would be nice if the big one’s made a point to walk through every shooting lane like the little ones always seem to

He didn’t pick up my scent where I came in. I don’t know if he saw me? My silhouette it broken up pretty good in this spot. I’m guessing he scented me. The wind does tend to swirly a little bit in this spot. It’s strange though, I get so many doe & small bucks that often walk to my stand from all directions & never scent me. When I 1st saw him he was stopped , looking at me, then few seconds later turned and bolted off.

Had a real nice shooter at 40 yds tonight but he was locked on a doe and wouldn’t come to a grunt and snort wheeze.
