Bring your wallet, australia is very expensive ($3 for a coke). Not sure where you are all going but there are some guys that i went out with outta darling harbor in Sydney. Also if you are in New Zealand there is a cheap charter on the tip of the north Island in Cape Reinga. It was $70 for 7-1 4 people, lots of snapper (if i remember right) and a 3+ foot mako shark. Also there is a fun (fairly cheap) deal out of Cairns (75k south of port douglas) for snorkeling and scuba on the great barrier reef if fishing doesnt work out.

I never did get any fishing in over there but you will have a good time. The weather should be good for you right now since you will be in the northern part—down south it is still pretty cool. Have fun and drink a Touheys Extra Dry for me

Thanks, guys! We’ll start the first 4 days in Port Douglas/Cairns then we’re in Sydney for 7 days. Should be a blast and if I can weasle in some fishing while we’re at it all the better!

Cairns should be good. We were in Darwin last month and it was great. Sydney not so much this time of year. It was rainy and COLD when we were there on the 20th of August thru the 23rd. It is a fun place to visit but wouldn’t want to live there!

    Worst. Flights. Ever.

Good god, that’s a miserable trip over there. 34 hours from starting airport to final first destination in Port Douglas. Ugh. I must say Qantas makes the trip as good as possible with HUGE roomie planes and personal entertainment systems with On Demand movies and tv. I watched 10 movies!

Trip was amazing. Absolutely amazing. From the very laid-back atmosphere in Port Douglas (up the coast on the Great Barrier Reef) back to the big city life in Sydney. The weather was perfect for all occasions. It was in the mid 80’s in Port Douglas and even hit 90+ in Sydney one day. It’s their Spring right now.

We saw a TON of sights and our room on the 28th floor of the 4 Seasons overlooked Sydney Harbor, the bridge, and the opera house. It was amazing.

God bless her company for paying for the majority of the trip!

Pulled the cards last Thursday AM. This is some odds and ends we have running around. Next year looks very promising. We have two very nice young bucks that I’m already hoping will surive til next year.

This is the buck I hope Mom gets a crack at.

Notice the background. A fish must have surfaced and scared this little guy. Funny stuff.
