Last year we a nice 4 point with pretty bad warts. This year this girl has a small one on her thigh. I’ll keep an eye on her as the season progresses.

I had a neat buck last year on camera in the summer with a couple around his neck and face. I got pics of him again in late fall into winter and the warts were gone.

    Not sure what causes them.

From what I’ve read, it’s non-fatal unless the warts interfere with the mouth or eye areas. Sadly our little buck never showed back up last fall so I don’t know how he did. He was covered pretty good though. Some of the pictures online of infected deer are pretty disgusting. I feel bad for them.

Kooty could they be ticks? I know back about 5/6 years ago in Sask. the ticks were really bad and they really took a toll on the moose population in some areas. The few moose that I had seen that were loaded with ticks looked a lot like your deer but the whole front end of them were covered. We watched one bed down for a while then it got up and left,we went to were it was bedded and it looked like something had bled out. There was blood every were in the bed.

That was my initial thought last year. Here is a decent article about Fibroma. For the life of me, I can’t find the buck from last year in my pics file.
