I was out for a winter hike the other day and ended up watching 2 bucks fight for a few minutes. After they wondered off I went to check it out. This is what it looks like if you haven’t seen it before. SO next time you think you have trespassers cross country skiing on your property, that may not be the case. Thought it was pretty cool.

Too bad they didn’t snap a few antlers off during it…that would be a dream come true!

Yeah, no kidding! I crouched down and enjoyed the show thinking….what are the odds here? I shouldn’t have even glassed them as they walked away. It would have been much more exciting walking up the the area not knowing that they both left the scene with both sides attached!

What in the world are they still fighting for? They are going to beat themselves up pretty bad during the easiest winter in a decade ! That had to have been a sight to see and a nice lesson to help identify some strange scenes we find in the woods. We’re they playing for keeps or messing around? Are any of you guys seeing any signs of hot doe pee on your walks?

Sparring on my cams this past week as well. Didn’t see and bucks that shed out of 800 pics. Should be soon! Hope it’s after the next snowfall. I haven’t ever found a shed before and my wife is taking off (w/ our little guy) on the 19-20th of Feb to visit her sister in WI. Should give me 2 quality days of walking in the woods.

Todders,, They were pushing each other around pretty good. But once they were done they were good buddies again. They were younger bucks and I think when they spend 24 hours a day together in the woods they’re just looking for something to do. I’d say it had nothing to do with any type of rut or dominance hierarchy.
