    Could be wolves up in that area also. I doubt if she was wounded that much she would have gotten away from them though. Likely a misplaced shot.

    I agree on the bad shot. Most wolf/coyote attack pics show an injury lower on the hind quarter

    Agreed, coyote / wolf bites typically lower on back legs & butt -bad shot.

    Feel terrible for an animal either way. Man that looks painful. If it was a hunter, he needs a good slap!

    Im going with bullet wound. Deer is running away and driver is shooting away. Im sure that white tail and rump patch really draws the eyes in and probably the only discernible thing they see; thus aim at.
