Well from the long bow season and my miss at a good buck a few weeks ago, and passing on does all season long, i decided once muzzloader season opened up it was time to fill the freezer. well saturday came and i was still away on the thanksgiving trip and all i could think about was hunting. it was drizzly and purefect for still hunting, and couldnt wait to get out the next morning,
Sunday finally got there and i was sitting at the base of a tree where i decided to start my day, after a hour or so and not seeing anything i decided to walk along the river bottom. Still hunting is my favorite way to hunt now as i have strated to get antsy sitting on stand for more then 2 hours. well i walked about a mile and did not see much. its now about 930 and i decided to go check my cameras. checked the first on and was on my way to the next still hunting as i go stopping every 50 to 75 yards and just listening and watching for up 20 minutes at a time. but as i approched my next camera i jumped this doe at 5 yards from me the wind was purefect and she never heard me do to the wet soft ground. i was just as startled as she was when she got up. i pulled up watching to make sure it was a sutable doe and not a button buck. by the time i decide to take the shot she was at 50 yards and as i pulled the trigger she jumped and piled up in to a thicket. and i couldnt believe i hit her. i quickly reloded and started walking slowly towards her when she stood up, i had made a horrible shot i hit her very far back, so i quickly put another round to her and put her done as fast as i could. but taking this deer has now ended my season and it was a major weight off my shoulders. now its to the butcher and waiting on the ice to form
