    Poor Dean?

He’s the one up on Rainy!

Stuart, I was thinking…since both tractors have buckets…maybe a fight to the finish with the tractors? Whoever crosses over Lynn’s car is the looser?

Even though I filled my buck tag the 1st week of season, I’ve been getting the itch to go out lately. Tonight was only my 3rd time out since 9/21/11.

Tonight was a little different. I was glassing a field edge last night about 5 mins from where I live and saw a nice buck about 300 yards out. It was last light and I couldn’t tell exactly how big he was????

Long story short, I asked a couple guys if they wanted to go out tonight and Charles was all for it. He even gave me the green light to shoot the buck if it was worthy…. well, I had to knock on 3 different doors to get permission and it was finally granted. We hunted on the ground and I ended up passing on him. He was a 3.5 yr old 10 pt that went 125″ish.

I have a different friend that I know would love to shoot this buck. I’m planning to put up a double set of stands tomorrow and get the whole thing on film within the next 3 nights.

The picture I put on this thread isn’t of him but it’s almost his identical twin. The only difference is the buck in the pic has better G3’s.

Awesome, I got hooked on giving friends an opportunity to hunt some well managed land last year. I put in alot of work on our property and found it very rewarding to let a few guys fill their bow tags with does late last year, less yet a buck. I think you will be very happy with your decision and find it a very rewarding experience. Good luck getting him on film

Well, 3 days into it and he finally showed his face again. Only problem was that the wind switched and he came in down wind in the thicket at 38 yards and we couldn’t get a shot off.

He ended up coming out onto the field 125 yards out and headed back into the woods after a couple of mins. Close but no cigar…. My buddy (Danny) texted me on the way home and said; “something has to give. It was awesome seeing that big deer.”

It was the biggest buck he has seen while bow hunting. We plan to do some more hunting this weekend. Hopefully Danny can score before the sea of blaze orange hits the woods.
