Warm weather coming…

So what do you guys do when the weather gets really warm (as it is supposed to this week…) during October? I have Tuesday and Thursday night open to hunt, but I am contemplating whether to go out or not… My guess would be the deer would stop moving during the daylight because of the warmth, but maybe I’m wrong. What would you guys do?

Hunt water or give it a break. My plan is to give it a rest for a couple weeks and get some fall fishing in!

Hunt over water. At least that is what my gut says. Good luck!

1st 2 weeks of Oct are normally pretty tough

I used to have this issue pretty often in the past. First couple weeks after the opener there were deer everywhere. Acorns begin to drop, and the deer seem to vanish. I now hunt away from main fields, but rather focus on the oak ridge top where I plant small food plots inside the woods. Typically, there is water nearby if I can help it. I leave these places alone until I stop seeing deer in my other spots. Warm weather will still allow for movement in the first and last hour of the day, but I notice movement in the woods even earlier. If you fish, then go fishing. If you are a bowhunter, you hunt no matter how warm!

If you have limited time to hunt then by all means go hunt. But if you can hunt everyday there are better times ahead

My dad killed his buck last year on October 4th at 5:30 pm it was was 85 degrees out in an oak flat I say hunt and stay positive. Hunt oaks flats near bedding areas the deer are there they just don’t move far from bed when the food is falling in their laps so you have to go to them get close but watch the wind don’t go in unless you have a perfect wind and good access in and out the last thing You want to do is let them know they are being hunted and educate Them good luck either way
