I saw two bucks lightly sparring Saturday mid-morning…I got the bigger one to turn and come my way 4 times with a snort-wheeze…..but he couldn’t “see” the buck in question so he didn’t commit.

Best part of the whole weekend was not dealing with any bugs!!! The hard freeze and dry last few weeks has taken its toll!

Slow over here. Saw 1 small doe and 4 turkeys on Sat afternoon. Didn’t hunt Sunday as it rained here most of the day. I am hearing from other guys the gnats are really bad they didn’t bother me but it was a little breezey. Going poolside this afternoon

I seen nothing sat morning, sat afternoon one small buck.

Sunday was slow in the morning. So the afternoon I sat a saddle on a oak ridge, and seen a smaller 6, and 7 doe the only thing that got within range of the long bow was the small six kinda wish I would have had my compound with me but I’m holding true to the long bow for now.

One of my friends at school shot a 8 pointer sitting under a big oak tree from 10 yards out after he tried climbing up his ladder stand and it fell right on him! I’ll try to get pictures sent to me and I’ll put em up if I do!

There are alot of acorns in the woods right now. That’s the only excuse I can come up with. My buddy shot a 157 incher opening day. I’ll ask if he minds me posting his picture.

Indeed hunting in La Crescent killed me wind wise. Monday 5:30 came around a huge doe popped into sight 15yrds infront of me with the brush of a apple tree blocking my shot she stood there for 15mins then acted as if she was going to come right under me then a quick jump and 3 snorts later shes gone can’t catch a break so far.
