Nice slabs bill! Trolling small jigs will surely put the fish in the boat when bobber fishing isn’t productive.
September 16, 2011 at 2:31 am #202620Just wondering if anyone has had any fading issues with these blinds leaving them out. Other blinds I’ve had start to turn almost orange looking. The doulble bulls I’ve only used for turkeys and don’t leave them out for more than couple days.
September 16, 2011 at 4:07 am #110241Yeah, they will fade. Just like all things left out will fade to some degree. I haven’t owned a ton of different blinds; just some original double bulls and some primos that weren’t double bull. The DB before they were sold to primos (can’t speak for afterwards if any changes were made) lasted multiple falls and never had much fading. One of these very same blinds ended up having to be left out all winter long because it was froze in. It ended up being fairly faded (white/light in color). In comparison, we bought some quad pod type stands last year that came with a primos ground blind for its covering. These blinds were not left out all winter long and still had pretty significant fading. Take the info for what its worth, if anything….

My Matrix 360 has faded to the point I don’t use it anymore. The greens have turned a light blue and I don’t know what to do with it. Hate to throw away a $400 blind but it sticks out like a sore thumb.
SAME 4 Me!!
September 19, 2011 at 2:15 pm #110404There’s a number of guys that have custom painted their blinds over the years. Do some web searches. I’m not sure what kind of paint they use to stick to the fabric so well, but it’s being done.

Another thing with the Double Bulls and leaving them out, I’ve seen other guys just drape some burlap or other blind material over/around it and cut holes to fit. Let the other material fade.

average_joePosts: 10September 24, 2011 at 3:25 pm #110852I hear ya….the problem with pop-up blinds is that they fade, the poles crack & break, snow will collapse the blind and ruin it. All of the above are the problems we hate to have happen to our equipment that our hard earned money is spent on….and, if you do not want to spook deer, the blinds have to be left out for long periods of time prior to the hunt. Check out http://www.baleblinds.com These things are the ultimate hunting blind, the gallery on the site speaks for itself. I have hunted out of them and can say that you can set it out the day of a hunt, even if other famrmers hay bales are not in the area you are hunting, and have deer in close, without a care in the world that the ‘haybale’ is now there. Check it out, you wont be dissappointed!
