I happen to agree with the article.. (Mostly since i still have like 18 muzzy’s left and I’m committed to them for a few more years!) AND because there’s too much crap that can go wrong already, my broadhead not opening or breaking isn’t one more I’m willing to chance. The risks outweigh the rewards. Just my 2cents.

BS!! Muzzy for life, a lot of freinds and I fell for the expandable propoganda, looks cool in slow mo and thats about it!! 5for 5 of us lost deer with rages or wasps only to fall back on Muzzys to begin the blood spilling again! I hit a doe square behind in the shoulder last year with a rage and the effin thing didnt even pass through, 1 hole = 50% smaller blood trail! I later found the deer 250 yards from the shot but there was NO blood to follow, that was my first deer shot with a rage and my first deer of 40kills that I lost.

Their is no propaganda with cuts on contact technology, its been feeding families for millions of years!!

Propaganda would be self promoted “hunting experts” shooting deer on ranches or outfitters telling you that these products make them a better hunter when in reality they arent hunting they are just going out and shooting someones 4 year old that has had no negative human interaction its hole life!!

#1 Muzzy’s are not a “Cut on Contact” heads. They have a bone crushing Trocar tip that punctures the hide before the blades start cutting. Darn good head too might I add.

#2 Never said Cut on Contact heads were bad , as a matter of fact, I am using a tru “Cut on Contact” head, G5 Montec. Also a darn good head.

#3 I have lost an animal using a “Fixed” Blade head . 1 with a Thunderhead and 1 with a Muzzy 100. I’m not blaming the brodhead.

#4 Your comment: “Your Not Hunting if your on a ranch or use an outfitter”….. Pure 100% BS!!!! I Hunt on a private ranch in ND. 1,000 acres, boarders public land. Also hunt the public land. I also hunt with outfitters. Sat many a day dark to dark and never killed anything, just exactly what am I doing if I am not hunting…. Never once have I proclaimed myself to be an expert at anything. I’m just a guy that loves to hunt and doesnt judge people just because they don’t use what I use and don’t hunt the way I hunt……

    This was my statement…
If I had spare money to hunt with an outtfitter I would be there in a second, I have done it before and we came home 1 for 5. When you are hunting no one controls the animals or conditions. I envy you and your adventures around and appreciate your imput as your experince is vast!
I was implying propagander being these product promoters on the tube NEVER give a guy the full details on products and switch heads from year to year. Cut ons have killed for century and wounded for just as long I understand that but there are to many variables for this hunter. I do not put anyone down EVER freindly tease maybe similar to this statement “Propoganda at best…..

Ya know reading that article brings up something curious in my head….I have 6 rage broadheads on the shelf from deer shots (5 does and 1 bad shot on a buck who is alive today still) All 5 kill shot broadheads are still in great shape and 4 of 5 were pass threws. The 1 bad shot I brisket shot at 40 yds and he is still walking in front of the camera to date. Point I am getting at he says all this damage has been done to these heads on impact , but I have yet to see a damn thing wrong with now 6 heads and never a deer making it more the 100 yds that is in the kill zone? If I was going to go shoulder blade busting hands down I would grab my 1 arrow I carry with a muzzy for coon killing in a heartbeat but until I am proven differently I will take the Rage head anytime with the trauma it causes on impact.
All heads out there when put through certain situations are due to fail or let down hunters and in all honesty I bet you 75% of the time is not the broadheads fault either. Need to use common sense at times for instance when hunting heavy brush/cover and your shooting a rage…chances are you will not get away with the things you could with a fixed head whether it being deep grass or foliage. Contact with that in flight can cause issues with any mechanical heads on the market.

    BANG!

That’s exactly it! Confidence is #1. Doesn’t matter if you’re shooting a long bow or the highest priced new thing on the market…..The thing though is,, in today’s world a LOT of guys think they need the newest/best to be the best..But if that’s what they need to be confident,Have Attr’

You are correct, my bad. Back in 2004-2005ish, Muzzy purchased the Phantom Broadhead that is now being manufactured under the Muzzy name.

I have used muzzy for better part of ten years and I love them. I have had one instance where I shot a buck perfectly and he spun around ran off. I found my arrow and the tip of the muzzy was all that penetrated. It was gone and the blades were bent but hadnt cut anything. That buck lived,I had seen him two years later Last year I decided to try rage broadheads after a double lung shot on a buck I have pictures on here went 300 yards. Last year I followed the best bload trail I have ever seen. No kidding it was amazing. I like muzzy still but have gained confidence in the rage and am going with them again this year. I think it was said earlier, take whatever gives you the most confidence with you in the field. Most important thing is making a good shot. IMHO
